I must say, even if there are a lot of places that are almost empty (or completely empty), you won't have any problems (unless you're a sociopath) with finding people to be friends with or people to have a short chat with and then never met them again!
Most people I met are nice and so far I have (right now I don't remember exactly) about 10 friends on my list and I must say that it's not easy to remember who's who, expecially when a name on the list belongs to a person you met one or two times.
I don't know about you, but when I find a nice person I like to expand my friends list. So it happens I find someone nice to talk to and after a few days I can't exactly tell who he or she was! I guess that's normal, though.
Another problem, when you start to have some friends it's hard to meet them all on a regular basis. I have mixed interests and I like to do and try many things, so it may happen that some of my friends won't be exactly... compatible.
Sometimes I can hang out with a small group of them, but it isn't always that easy. Not to mention that sometimes I like to go out alone. Overall, I wanted to say that it's hard to give to each and every friend all the deserved attention.
